The sum of the digits of a 2-digit number is 14. The number obtained by interchanging its digits exceeds the given number by 18. Find the number.

Let the required number be $10x + y$
Here $x + y = 14$ ----- (i)
and $10y + x = 18 + 10x + y$
$\Rightarrow y - x = 2$ ---- (ii)
Solving (i) and (ii) to get $x = 6, y = 8$
$\therefore$ required number is $68$.
