The median of the following data is 525. If the sum of all the frequencies is 100, find the values of $p$ and $q$.

$p + q = 12$ (i) (1 Mark)
Median class = $500 – 600$, $N = 100$
Median = $500 + \frac{50-(40+p)}{20} \times 100$ (2 Marks)
$525 = 500 + 5(10 – p)$
$p = 5$ (1/2 Mark)
and $q = 7$ (From (i)) (1/2 Mark)
