The vertices of a $\Delta ABC$ are A$(-2, 4)$, B$(4, 3)$ and C$(1, -6)$. Find length of the median BD.

Mid-point of AC is D $(\frac{-1}{2}, -1)$ (1)
Length of median BD
$= \sqrt{(4+\frac{1}{2})^2+(3+1)^2} = \sqrt{\frac{145}{4}}$ or $\frac{\sqrt{145}}{2}$ (1)
