In the given figure, $OPRQ$ is a quadrant of a circle with centre $O$ and radius $10$ cm. If $OP = 10$ cm and $OS = 6$ cm, find the area of the shaded region. (Use $\pi = 3.14$)

Area of the shaded region $=$ Area of quadrant $-$ Area of $\Delta POS = \frac{1}{4} \times 3.14 \times 10 \times 10 - \frac{1}{2} \times 10 \times 6 = 48.5$ sq. cm or $\frac{97}{2}$ sq. cm. ($1 + 1$ marks)
